Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how World Poker Club uses cookies and similar technologies on our website at worldpokerclub.co.uk. Read this together with our Privacy Policy.
01. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser when you visit a website. They are used to remember information about you, such as your preferences or whether you've consented to certain things.
Similar technologies include browser local storage, session storage, and tracking pixels — for this policy, we use "cookies" to refer to all of these.
02. Categories of cookies we use
Strictly necessary cookies (always active)
These cookies are essential for the site to function. They do not require your consent because they are required to deliver the service you have requested.
| Cookie name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| wpc_cookie_consent | Stores your cookie preferences so we don't ask you on every page view | 6 months |
| wpc_session | Keeps you logged into the app (only set on app.worldpokerclub.co.uk) | Session / 30 days if "remember me" |
Analytics & performance cookies (opt-in)
These are set only if you consent. They help us understand how visitors use our site so we can make it better. If you reject them, the underlying scripts (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity) are not loaded at all — nothing is sent to those services.
| Cookie name | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics 4 | Distinguishes unique users | 2 years |
| _ga_<ID> | Google Analytics 4 | Persists session state for the property | 2 years |
| _gid | Google Analytics 4 | Distinguishes unique users (24-hour scope) | 24 hours |
| _clck | Microsoft Clarity | Persists the Clarity user ID and preferences | 1 year |
| _clsk | Microsoft Clarity | Connects multiple page views by a user into a single session recording | 1 day |
| CLID | Microsoft Clarity | Identifies the visitor across sessions for funnel analysis | 1 year |
| MUID | Microsoft | Identifies unique web browsers across Microsoft sites | 1 year |
What Microsoft Clarity captures
Clarity captures anonymised session recordings — your mouse movements, clicks, scroll behaviour, and which pages you visit. We use this to find usability problems on the site.
Form input fields, password fields, and credit card fields are automatically masked by Clarity — Clarity sees that you typed something, but not what.
You can opt out at any time by clicking "Cookie settings" and toggling off Analytics & Performance.
Google Search Console (no cookies)
We use Google Search Console to monitor our presence in Google search results. Search Console operates on aggregated data from Google's side and does not set any cookies on your browser. No consent is required.
03. How to manage cookies
On our site
Click the "Cookie settings" button below, or the same link in our site footer. You can accept all, reject all, or pick which categories to allow.
In your browser
You can also manage or delete cookies through your browser settings. Note that strictly necessary cookies cannot be turned off without breaking parts of the site (for example, you may be unable to stay logged in).
Browser-level Do Not Track
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control" signal. We respect Global Privacy Control (GPC) and treat it as a signal to decline analytics cookies. If your browser sends GPC, we will not load analytics scripts even if you have not explicitly clicked "Reject".
04. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example when we add or change a tool. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. Material changes will be flagged via the cookie banner so you can review and confirm your preferences.
